David Newton - Piano
After studying at Leeds College of Music, David has performed regularly with Alan Barnes, Stacey Kent, Claire Martin, Martin Taylor and other international artists such as Carol Kidd, Scott Hamilton, Harry 'Sweets' Edison, Warren Vache, Bud Shank, Conte Candoli, Annie Ross and Art Farmer to name but a few.

David has always been one to connect and grow with the musicians around him, a great inspiration. His debut record was in 1986 with legendary clarinetist Buddy de Franco, a man who knows a good pianist when he hears one, having played with Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson and Count Basie. David is on a number of solo & group recordings on the Concord label & Linn Records. In 1994/96/98 & 2000 David was voted Best Pianist and in 1995 he won the John Dankworth Outstanding Solo Performer of the Year in the British Jazz Awards.


Mark Hodgson - Bass
Mark studied at the Guildhall School of Music in London. Since then he has become one of the most sought after bassists in Britain today besides working with all the major British jazz artists on a regular basis.

Mark is first call for many visiting musicians worldwide including Cedar Walton, Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Bill Charlap, Eddie Henderson and Larry Coryell. In 1998 Mark was invited to join Bill Bruford's 'Earthworks' which has led to tours of Europe, the US and the Far East.

Steve Brown - Drums
Steve's happy swinging style has made him a favorite amongst international and European/British players alike. He studied with Carl Allen (Freddie Hubbard Quartet + Benny Green Trio) & John Riley (John Schofield Group + Vanguard Jazz Orchestra). Steve is a Worshipful Company of Musicians Jazz Medal winner and has also been voted Rising Star & Best Drummer in the British Jazz Awards.

Also a finalist in the European Jazz Competition, Steve has worked with amongst others, Benny Green, Art Farmer, Scott Hamilton, Charles McPherson, Bill Watrous, Ingrid Jensen, Doug Raney, Mundell Lowe, Red Holloway, Stan Tracey, Martin Taylor, Carol Kidd, Claire Martin and Alan Barnes. His recordings are extensive. You can hear Steve on Candid Records with Stacey Kent, Jim Tomlinson and David Newton, the Concord label with Alan Barnes & David Newton, Zephyr with the Alan Barnes nonet and Mas i Mas with Albert Bover's trio.
