Newton - Piano David has always been one to connect and grow with the musicians around him, a great inspiration. His debut record was in 1986 with legendary clarinetist Buddy de Franco, a man who knows a good pianist when he hears one, having played with Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson and Count Basie. David is on a number of solo & group recordings on the Concord label & Linn Records. In 1994/96/98 & 2000 David was voted Best Pianist and in 1995 he won the John Dankworth Outstanding Solo Performer of the Year in the British Jazz Awards.
Mark is first call for many visiting musicians worldwide including Cedar Walton, Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Bill Charlap, Eddie Henderson and Larry Coryell. In 1998 Mark was invited to join Bill Bruford's 'Earthworks' which has led to tours of Europe, the US and the Far East. Steve

has worked with amongst others, Benny Green, Art Farmer, Scott Hamilton,
Charles McPherson, Bill Watrous, Ingrid Jensen, Doug Raney, Mundell Lowe,
Red Holloway, Stan Tracey, Martin Taylor, Carol Kidd, Claire Martin and
Alan Barnes. His recordings are extensive. You can hear Steve on Candid

with Alan Barnes & David Newton, Zephyr with the Alan Barnes nonet and
